The second school dedicated to Transmission Electron Microscopy and Mineralogy organized by the SFMC will be held at the University of Lille in November 2012. The main aspects of TEM techniques (conventional and high-resolution imaging, diffraction, spectroscopy and chemical analysis) will be covered, based on practical sessions, simulations and worked examples. Short courses will be dispensed as theoretical support to the experiments analysis and interpretation.
The reference textbook will be the Williams and Carter, which will be distributed to the participants at the beginning of the school.The number of participants is limited to 12. The school concerns graduate students, post-docs and researchers. Examination for ECTS credit points will be proposed at the end of the school.
