Calorimetry

The MMT team has a range of thermal analysis devices allowing a thorough thermodynamic characterization of molecular materials:

• MDSC (Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimetry - type Q1000 TA instruments) to analyze phase transitions and phase transformations of materials between -150°C and 300°C (melting, crystallization, recrystallization, glass transition ...).
• TGA (Thermo Gravimetric Analysis - Q500 / TA instruments) to analyze the mass losses due to desolvations and chemical degradations.
• A microcalorimeter (DSC 7 / Sétaram) of high sensitivity to study low energy phenomena (denaturation of proteins, very slow crystallizations ...)
