Roberto TABACCOThe research group Plasticity applies concepts and methods from materials science and physical metallurgy to problems relevant for dynamics of the interiors of planets. The research of the team is centered around multi-scale modeling of plasticity. In conjunction the team develops innovative experiments and characterizations of plasticity, mostly based on electron microscopy, in interaction with numerical models. This research is focused on the study of the plasticity of mantle minerals.
